Racing and Casino at One Address
Century Mile sits at 4711 Airport Perimeter Road in Leduc County, beside Edmonton International Airport. We opened our doors on April 1, 2019, taking over from Northlands Park as the primary horse racing venue for the Edmonton region. This is Western Canada’s only Class-A one-mile racetrack, and one of just two A-level tracks in all of Alberta. The facility is owned by Vici Properties and operated by Century Casinos, Inc., a Colorado-based operator with properties in Canada, the US, and Europe.
Our track is a true one-mile oval. We run Thoroughbred, Quarter Horse, and Standardbred racing through spring, summer, and fall, usually hitting more than 60 live race dates each year. During Thoroughbred season, Saturday, Sunday, and holiday Monday cards normally start at 1:45 pm, while Thursday evening programs begin at 5:45 pm. What’s on the Casino Floor
On the casino floor we operate over 600 electronic gaming machines. That total covers slot machines, Video Lottery Terminals, electronic roulette, electronic blackjack, electronic baccarat, and terminals dedicated to electronic horse racing. All VLTs and slot machines run within the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC) regulatory framework, which is the provincial authority overseeing electronic gaming activity.

Inside the building, the REPLAY Arena operates as its own zone with stadium-style seating, large screens, and a mix of live and simulcast racing plus other sports content. Guests use it both as a social space and as an active wagering area. Pari-mutuel betting is accessible throughout the property, and our OTB area offers simulcast wagering on tracks across North America for anyone who prefers betting on remote races instead of waiting for the live card.
One small but important point for race days or any betting: hold on to your ticket until the official result is posted. It sounds basic, but people do sometimes discard tickets too quickly.
Placing a Wager on Race Day
Pari-mutuel wagering is the standard format for horse racing at Century Mile. After a race or two, the routine becomes fairly natural.
On a typical race day, here is how the process usually looks:
- Go to a staffed wagering window or one of the self-service betting terminals located around the venue.
- Pick up a race program. It lists post times, horse numbers, jockeys, trainers, and the morning-line odds.
- Decide which type of wager you want to play - for example win, place, show, exacta, trifecta, superfecta, or a daily double.
- At the window, state the race number if needed, your horse number, bet type, and the amount, or enter those details directly at the terminal.
- Take your printed ticket and keep it safe until the race is made official.
- If your bet pays, bring that ticket to a cashier window to settle and collect.
- For simulcast races in the OTB area, the same approach applies, you just use the program for the originating track instead of the on-site card.
Provincial rules mean gift cards are not valid for gambling transactions. At the wagering windows, we can accept only cash or equivalent approved payment methods.
