Live Racing at a One-Mile Oval
Century Mile sits in Leduc County, Alberta, right beside Edmonton International Airport, so most guests find it easily even on their first trip out. We opened the facility in April 2019, taking over from the former Northlands Park racetrack and stepping into the role of the region’s main Class-A racing venue. Century Casinos operates the property under a lease agreement with Vici Properties, which owns the land and buildings.
The racetrack itself is a one-mile oval, and that detail matters more than it might seem at first glance. It is the only Class-A one-mile track in Western Canada, and that designation helps shape the quality of horses that ship in, how purses are structured, and which stakes races we are able to host. Across the year we run Thoroughbred, Quarter Horse, and Standardbred racing on more than 60 live dates, spread through the spring, summer, and fall months.

The detailed live racing calendar is posted at cnty.com/centurymile/racing. Post times do move around a bit. During the Thoroughbred season, Saturdays, Sundays, and holiday Mondays usually begin close to 1:45 PM, while Thursday programs often start around 5:45 PM. Those times can shift with the meet, so it is always better to confirm them on the official site before you plan a day around a specific race.
Watching and Betting Remotely
You are not limited to the grandstand to follow what happens on the track. Our Live Stream and Replays page at cnty.com/centurymile/betting/live-stream-and-replays carries HD streams of current race days along with same-day replays, so if you are in a permitted jurisdiction you can watch the card from home or on the move.
For remote betting, our racing product is carried by licensed Advance Deposit Wagering platforms. TwinSpires and AmWager are the main partners at the moment. Both include Century Mile in their track lists with live odds boards, race cards, and upcoming schedules. Players located in eligible Canadian provinces can use either service from a desktop computer or mobile device.
A typical remote wagering session looks roughly like this:
- Open TwinSpires or AmWager and check that Century Mile appears in the track directory.
- Log in to your existing account or complete the registration flow if you are new to the platform.
- Navigate to the Century Mile race card, then review post times, pools, and race notes.
- Decide on your race and the bet type you want - Win, Place, Show, Exacta, Trifecta and similar options are usually there.
- Enter the stake amount, make sure the details match your intention, and confirm before the horses reach the gate.
- Watch the race on the ADW feed or through our live stream page.
- Use the same-day replay section to double-check results or to study form for upcoming cards.
Same-day replays tend to be especially helpful if you are trying to understand how particular horses, trainers or riders handle this track. One general point that helps: if you are new to any ADW, it is better to spend a bit of time with the layout a day or two before you want to play. Figuring out where to click while the countdown to post is ticking adds unnecessary pressure and sometimes mistakes.
